Dangote Group has confirmed the death of Ruth Otabor, victim of a recent truck accident.
The company expressed grief, pledged continued support to her family, and promised stronger safety measures.
The Dangote Group has announced with sadness the death of Ruth Otabor, who sustained injuries in an accident involving one of the company’s trucks near Auchi, Edo State.
In a statement issued by its management on Sunday, August 31, 2025, the company extended its condolences to Ruth’s family, friends, and loved ones, describing the loss as deeply painful.
According to the statement, company officials and insurance representatives had been providing full financial and medical support since the accident occurred. It also noted that plans were in place to move Ruth to India for specialized treatment, pending clearance from her doctors.
“Despite the care provided and her courageous fight for survival, Ruth sadly passed away today,” the company stated.
Dangote Group stressed that safety, responsibility, and compassion are at the core of its values, adding that it would continue to improve its safety measures while standing firmly by victims and their families whenever such tragedies occur.
“We pray that she finds peace and eternal rest,” the statement concluded.
