FRSC Cautions Nigerians Against Using Certificates From Unaccredited Driving Schools
The FRSC has warned motorists that certificates from unapproved driving schools will not be accepted.
Officials advised learners to verify accreditation to avoid losing money and delaying license processing.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has cautioned that certificates issued by unapproved driving schools will not be recognized for the processing of driver’s licenses.

Mrs. Rosemary Alo, FRSC Sector Commander in Oyo State, gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Ibadan.
She advised intending drivers to confirm the accreditation status of any driving school before enrolling, stressing that doing otherwise could result in wasted effort, time, and money.
According to her, the FRSC is consistently training instructors to ensure they have the right skills to properly coach learners. “Only schools certified by the FRSC are permitted to provide training. Anyone who attends an unapproved school risks receiving poor instruction, losing money, and being denied the use of such certificates for license processing,” she explained.
Alo stressed the necessity of meeting standards for driving schools, noting that facilities, roadworthy vehicles, and qualified instructors are all required for proper accreditation.
She further warned that schools found violating the rules would be penalized, which could include suspension or outright withdrawal of their operating certificates.
