Gov. Alia Reinstates Three Suspended Officials After Assembly Resolution
Benue Governor Hyacinth Alia has reinstated three suspended public officials following a legislative directive by the State Assembly.
He urged them to embrace accountability and rededicate themselves to serving the people diligently.
Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has approved the reinstatement of three public officials whose suspensions were recently lifted by the State House of Assembly.

Those recalled are Mr. Maxwell Ogiri, Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area; Mrs. Grace Adagba, Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB); and Mr. Michael Uper, Executive Secretary of the Benue State Lottery Commission.
The three officials were earlier suspended after a resolution of the Assembly, which the governor upheld on August 20, 2025. However, at its sitting on August 25, the lawmakers under the leadership of the new Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alfred Emberga rescinded the decision and passed a resolution reversing their suspension.
In line with the legislative directive, Governor Alia ordered their immediate reinstatement, stressing his administration’s commitment to respecting the constitutional functions of the Assembly.
He urged the reinstated officers to recommit themselves to public service, embrace accountability, and work diligently in the interest of the people.
Governor Alia further assured Benue residents of his government’s dedication to transparency, good governance, and harmonious collaboration between the executive and legislative arms.
