The National Association of Polytechnic Students has mourned the death of Ruth Otabor, sister of BBNaija star Phyna, after a Dangote truck accident.
NAPS pledged full scholarships for her two children and promised to immortalize her memory.
The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has joined in mourning the death of Ruth Otabor, sister of reality TV star Phyna and a student of Auchi Polytechnic, who lost her life in a crash involving a Dangote truck.

In a statement, NAPS President Eshiofune Oghayan described Ruth’s death as another painful reminder of the dangers Nigerian students face on the roads. He noted that although she was rushed to a top hospital, the injuries were too severe to survive.
“Her death is another sad testament to the dangers our students face daily,” the statement read.
Oghayan explained that the association would not only support Ruth’s family but also honor her memory. He announced that her two children would be placed on full scholarships covering their education from primary school to tertiary level.
“Be assured that Ruth’s two children will be awarded full scholarships from primary school through to tertiary education, and steps will be taken to immortalize her in her alma mater, Auchi Polytechnic, as a symbol of our collective struggle for justice and safer roads and of eternal remembrance in the hearts of Nigerian students,” the statement added.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) also condoled with the family, stating that it has begun engaging stakeholders to help prevent such accidents in the future.
