President Tinubu Is a ‘Use-and-Dump Leader,’ says Senator Kabiru Marafa After Quitting APC

Former Zamfara senator Kabiru Marafa has quit the APC, accusing President Tinubu of using and dumping loyalists.

He vowed to slash a million votes from Tinubu’s tally in the 2027 election.

Former Zamfara Central senator Kabiru Marafa, has publicly denounced President Bola Tinubu, labeling him a leader who takes advantage of people before discarding them.

Marafa, who recently announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the remark during an interview on Channels Television on Monday, September 1. He argued that the way President Tinubu has treated key political allies shows a pattern of exploiting loyalty before abandoning supporters.

“Looking at the treatment of El-Rufai, the treatment of Ganduje, and the treatment of me, we are now convinced that Mr. President (Tinubu) is a use and dump leader,” Marafa said.

The senator pointed to the sidelining of former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, the challenges facing ex-APC national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and his own experience as proof that Tinubu discards loyalists once they no longer serve his political interests.

In the last general elections, Marafa played a significant part by serving as the Zamfara State coordinator for the Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign. However, he declared over the weekend that he was leaving the APC, citing frustration with the party’s leadership and Tinubu’s alleged betrayal of trust.

In a bold declaration, Marafa also vowed to undermine Tinubu’s chances in the 2027 presidential election.

“I’m going to assure you something today. I’m going to deduct one million out of Mr. President’s votes that he got in 2023. Mark my words. I’m going to do it. I will work for it and, by the special grace of God, I’m going to win that,” he said.

While Tinubu’s allies insist he is focused on governance and national development, critics like Marafa argue that his style of leadership is already alienating those who once helped secure his victory.
