Reuben Abati Faults Wike Over Comments on Peter Obi, PDP
Arise TV anchor Reuben Abati has slammed FCT Minister Nyesom Wike over his comments on Peter Obi and the PDP.
He argued Wike lacks the moral ground to question others after damaging the party’s unity.
Arise TV anchor, Dr. Reuben Abati, has taken issue with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, following his recent remarks about Peter Obi and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike had argued that Obi’s possible return to the PDP would spell disaster for the party, claiming the former Anambra governor had once dismissed the PDP as irredeemably rotten and therefore had no moral basis to return.
Responding, Abati maintained that Wike was hardly in a position to lecture anyone about character. According to him, Wike’s own political choices and utterances had already inflicted serious damage on the PDP’s unity and credibility.
The veteran journalist also faulted Wike’s repeated attacks on ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and other political leaders, questioning his right to constantly belittle others while ignoring his own controversial record.
Abati further cautioned against what he described as a trend in the Nigerian media, where certain platforms give Wike endless airtime to criticize rivals without offering those targeted an opportunity to respond. He urged journalists to resist being swayed by financial inducements, stressing that balance and fairness are vital for responsible reporting.
