Kwankwaso Warns El-Rufai: You Can’t Use Jonathan Tactics Against Tinubu

Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso has warned Nasir El-Rufai against reusing 2015 political tactics.

He insisted such strategies cannot unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027, citing progress under the administration.

APC chieftain Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso, has cautioned former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai against attempting to replicate the political strategies that contributed to the defeat of former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

Speaking in Kano on Tuesday, Kwankwaso insisted that such tactics would not work against President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

“You cannot oust President Bola Tinubu from the presidency in 2027 by engaging in the same method you did to former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, using poverty, insecurity and economic devastation. Your blackmail is clear to all,” Kwankwaso said.

The APC stalwart argued that Tinubu’s administration has recorded tangible progress in tackling insecurity and stabilizing food prices, attributing the improvements to the efforts of National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. He alleged that El-Rufai was unhappy with these developments and accused him of attempting to discredit the government.

Kwankwaso also challenged El-Rufai to produce evidence to back his claims that the Tinubu administration is behind banditry and terrorism.

In his words, “In the absence of such evidence, El-Rufai should desist from further comments and allow the government to continue the good things it is doing for Nigerians.”

He accused El-Rufai of trying to instigate the northern region against Tinubu but maintained that northerners were “not stupid” and could see progress in troubled areas such as Birnin Gwari, Sokoto, and Borno.

Dismissing the emerging coalition of opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and El-Rufai, as “failures,” Kwankwaso questioned their track records compared to Tinubu’s.

He further highlighted recent security gains, including arrests of key bandit and terrorist commanders, and urged Nigerians to support the Tinubu administration while ignoring what he described as “blackmail from opposition politicians.”
