In a statement from her lawyers, Graylaw Partners, May claimed that both parties shared harmful content about her on social media, including X, Instagram, and Facebook. She said the posts hurt her reputation and her business.

Her lawyers served separate cease-and-desist letters to Theisen and Ugwuonye, directing them to delete the posts, issue a public apology, and publish retractions on the same platforms. Beyond that, she is seeking financial damages, ₦1 billion from Ugwuonye and ₦500 million from Theisen.

The letter addressed to Ugwuonye further accused him of misusing confidential information obtained during his time as her lawyer, a move that allegedly exposed her to even more harm. Theisen, on the other hand, was accused of amplifying false claims and encouraging others to circulate them, worsening the damage to May’s image.

Both individuals were given 48 hours to comply with the demands. According to her legal team, failure to do so would result in both civil and criminal proceedings aimed at safeguarding May’s rights and restoring her reputation.
