The National Youth Games in Asaba have once again delivered on their promise as the cradle of future champions, with Lagos, Edo, and Delta States locked in a fierce contest for supremacy.

As of Thursday, Team Lagos has taken the lead in the medal standings, achieving a total of 61 medals: 33 gold, 15 silver, and 23 bronze. Following closely behind, Edo State holds second place with a total of 41 medals, consisting of 25 gold, nine silver, and 15 bronze.
Defending champions Delta State currently sits in third place with 59 medals: 17 gold, 20 silver, and 22 bronze. Meanwhile, Abia State has also made its presence felt, holding fourth position with nine gold, eight silver, and seven bronze medals.
The Games have witnessed young athletes not only winning medals but also breaking and setting new records, thrilling fans and highlighting Nigeria’s abundant talent pipeline. With electrifying performances across multiple sports, the event continues to showcase the next generation of global stars.
