CDS Musa Orders Troops: No Criminal Must Return Alive After Attack
General Christopher Musa has rebranded Operation Safe Haven as Operation Enduring Peace in Plateau State.
He ordered troops to go on the offensive, hunt bandits in forests, and eliminate criminal threats.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has directed troops under the newly rebranded Operation Enduring Peace to eliminate criminal groups operating in Plateau State and surrounding areas. The operation, formerly known as Operation Safe Haven, has been given fresh orders to intensify its fight against banditry and violent attacks.

Unveiling the new phase of the operation, General Musa charged security forces to abandon a defensive posture and take the battle directly to criminal elements threatening peace in the region.
“I don’t want to hear that bandits launched an attack and were merely repelled,” he declared. “Any armed criminal that dares to strike should not survive to recount it. Every forest and hideout where they take cover must be searched, and they must be neutralized.”
The Defence Chief warned that the military will no longer accept recurring assaults on communities, stressing that troops must be firm, proactive, and relentless in restoring normalcy.
According to him, the renaming of the security operation is part of wider efforts to refine military strategy and consolidate peace enforcement measures in Plateau and nearby states long troubled by violence.
