Floyd Mayweather And Mike Tyson Confirm 2026 Exhibition Fight

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Mike Tyson have confirmed a blockbuster 2026 exhibition fight.

The “Legend vs. Legend” showdown is set to captivate fans as two icons return to the ring.

Two of boxing’s biggest names are set to collide in what promises to be one of the sport’s most talked-about events of the decade.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Mike Tyson will face each other in a blockbuster 2026 exhibition bout, both fighters confirmed this week.

On Thursday, September 4, Tyson, 59, stunned fans when he announced the showdown on social media. He shared a promotional poster featuring half of each fighter’s face, accompanied by the bold tagline: “Legend vs. Legend.”

The post was simply captioned: “Coming Soon.” In an interview with TMZ Sports, the former heavyweight champion acknowledged that he never anticipated Mayweather would accept the fight.

“This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this,” Tyson said, warning it could be “detrimental to his health.”

Floyd Mayweather, now 49 years old and almost a decade younger than Mike Tyson, dismissed concerns about the match.. Confident as ever, the undefeated former champion insisted his reputation remains untouchable.

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” he told TMZ. “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and legendary.

This exhibition will give the fans what they want.” Since the event is officially an exhibition, Mayweather’s 50-0 professional record will remain unchanged regardless of the outcome. This isn’t Tyson’s first time back in the ring. In November 2024, he fought YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, a fight he ultimately lost.

That marked his first high-profile bout since retiring from professional boxing in 2005. Mayweather, on the other hand, last fought professionally in 2017, when he defeated UFC superstar Conor McGregor in a crossover mega-fight.

Since then, he has participated in several exhibition matches across the globe.. Though both men come from different weight classes and eras, their names carry unmatched star power. Tyson, once dubbed “the baddest man on the planet,” defined heavyweight boxing in the late 1980s and 1990s.

Mayweather, known for his exceptional defensive skills and perfect record, excelled in the sport during the 2000s and 2010s. The “Legend vs. Legend” showdown is expected to draw global attention, with fans eager to witness two icons share the same ring, regardless of the outcome.
