4 Sisters Ages 2 to 7 Die in House Fire After Being Left Home Alone Overnight
A devastating fire in Columbus County, North Carolina, has claimed the lives of four young sisters.
Authorities say the blaze erupted in the early hours, leaving the community heartbroken and grieving deeply.
Tragedy struck in Columbus County, North Carolina, when four young sisters died in a house fire early Saturday morning. The blaze, which started around 2:30 a.m. on August 30, claimed the lives of girls aged between two and seven.

According to Fire Marshal Shannon Blackman, no adults were inside the home on North Colony Road when the fire erupted. Two 12-year-old girls, including one of the sisters, managed to flee the house and raise the alarm. They called 911, and sheriff’s deputies and a rescue team arrived within minutes, but the house was already consumed by flames, leaving first responders unable to save the children trapped inside.
Sheriff Bill Rogers later explained that the fire’s intensity made it impossible for emergency workers to safely enter the building.
The heartbreaking loss has shaken the community. Two local residents, Ansley Hayes and B. Tyler Grainger, launched a GoFundMe campaign to support the family. In their statement, they expressed sorrow over the deaths of Kendall, Kalani, Josie, and Sophia, describing the girls as sources of joy who touched everyone who knew them.
Local media identified the children’s mother as Reagan Powers. Community members say the family is well known in the area, and the tragedy has left neighbors and friends devastated.
