Ganduje Dismisses Rumors of Defection to ADC

Ganduje has dismissed fresh claims of leaving the All Progressives Congress, calling them baseless.

His spokesman insists he remains loyal to President Tinubu and fully committed to advancing the party’s agenda.

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has rejected reports suggesting that he is preparing to leave the ruling party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The former Kano State governor described the claims as false and misleading, stressing that he remains firmly committed to the APC and to President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.

Ganduje stepped down as APC chairman on June 27, citing health challenges. He had been appointed to the position on August 3, 2023, during an emergency session of the party’s National Executive Committee. His resignation came less than a year after assuming the role, fueling speculation about his next political move.

In recent weeks, several reports circulated that Ganduje and some of his associates were plotting to switch camps to the ADC. However, his spokesperson, Edwin Olofu, said there is no truth in those reports.

Speaking with journalists on Saturday, Olofu clarified: “Ganduje is a committed member of the APC who is not just a loyal party man but also loyal to the President and his Renewed Hope Agenda. So, ignore those saying he is planning to leave the APC. It is just fake news.”

Olofu added that the former chairman remains focused on supporting the party’s agenda and dismissed the rumors as a distraction.
