Gunmen Kidnap Kwara APC Chairman’s Wife and Daughter
Gunmen have abducted the wife and daughter of APC chairman Muhammad Swasun in Patigi, Kwara State.
The attackers invaded his home on Sunday night, firing shots before seizing the two victims.
Armed men have kidnapped the wife and daughter of Alhaji Muhammad Swasun, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sakpefu, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The incident occurred late Sunday, September 7, when about five assailants scaled the fence of Swasun’s residence. Witnesses said the attackers fired multiple shots into the air to frighten residents before breaking into the house.
The gunmen forced their way into one of the rooms, where they found the politician’s wife and daughter. Both were seized at gunpoint and taken away to an undisclosed location.
A party executive who asked not to be named confirmed the development on Monday morning, saying Swasun narrowly escaped abduction himself. According to him, the chairman recounted that the assailants stormed the compound, shooting recklessly before locating the two victims.
Another APC member disclosed that the abducted individuals are Hajiya Fatima, the chairman’s wife, and their daughter, Amina. The attackers, he said, spent several minutes inside the compound before fleeing with their captives.
As of press time, the kidnappers had not made contact, and security agencies were yet to issue an official statement.
