Loan Apps Are Tools of the Devil, Pastor Enenche Warns Nigerians
Pastor Paul Enenche has cautioned Nigerians against using online loan apps, calling them “agents of the devil.”
He warned that their tactics push borrowers into depression, harassment, and even suicide.
Dr. Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has warned Nigerians to avoid online loan apps, labeling them “agents of the devil bound by the spirit of debt.”

Dr. Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has urged Nigerians to steer clear of online loan apps, which he described as “agents of the devil in covenant with the spirit of debt.”
Delivering his sermon on Sunday in Abuja, the cleric decried the rising cases of depression and suicide tied to digital lending services.
“Many people have been deceived by the promise of quick financial relief,” he said. “But once they fall into the trap, they are subjected to harassment, intimidation, and embarrassment that sometimes push them into depression or even suicide.”
He noted that borrowers are often bombarded with threats, persistent calls, and text messages, while some platforms go as far as publishing defamatory content and fake obituaries to shame debtors.
Enenche cautioned Christians against yielding to the lure of easy money, warning that such platforms are destructive. “These things are demonic covenants with debt, and no child of God should have anything to do with them,” he declared.
