The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards delivered a night of big wins, star-studded performances, and historic moments at the UBS Arena in New York on Sunday, September 8, with rapper LL Cool J hosting.

Lady Gaga dominated the night with four wins, including Artist of the Year and Best Collaboration with Bruno Mars for “Die With a Smile.” Ariana Grande also stood out, securing three awards, with “Brighter Days Ahead” earning the coveted Video of the Year.

Pop favorite Sabrina Carpenter matched Grande’s tally, winning three awards, including Album of the Year for Short n’ Sweet. K-pop sensation Rosé earned Song of the Year alongside Bruno Mars for their hit “APT.” Rising group KATSEYE won MTV Push Performance of the Year for “Touch.”
Other special honors included Mariah Carey receiving the Video Vanguard Award, Busta Rhymes honored with the first Rock the Bells Visionary Award, and Ricky Martin celebrated as the inaugural Latin Icon.
The night also spotlighted Afrobeats, with South African singer Tyla scoring her second consecutive win in the category with “Push 2 Start.”
