Andre Onana Joins Trabzonspor On Loan From Manchester United
Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has joined Trabzonspor on loan for the 2025/26 season.
The Turkish club welcomed him as United signed new keeper Senne Lammens on deadline day.
Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has joined Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, the clubs confirmed on Thursday.

The deal, agreed before Turkey’s transfer window closed on Friday, is subject to international clearance and player registration.
Trabzonspor welcomed the 29-year-old on its official X account with the message: “Welcome to your new home, Onana.” United also wished him “good luck” as he embarks on his new challenge.
Onana’s departure comes after being left out of United’s opening three Premier League fixtures. His only appearance this season was in the shock Carabao Cup defeat to League Two side Grimsby Town, a performance that fueled doubts over his long-term future at Old Trafford.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper joined United from Inter Milan in July 2023 for £47.2 million, making 102 appearances and helping the club win the 2024 FA Cup. However, his spell was marked by inconsistency and several high-profile errors that often placed him under scrutiny.
“Onana played 50 times in his second campaign, and our no.24 has now agreed a loan move to Trabzonspor,” United said in a statement.
United reinforced their goalkeeping department on deadline day by signing 23-year-old Belgian Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp for an initial €21 million (£18.1m) plus add-ons.
Manager Ruben Amorim must now choose between Lammens, Turkish international Altay Bayındır, and veteran Tom Heaton for Sunday’s derby clash with Manchester City.
Onana, who has also played for Ajax and Inter Milan, will aim to rediscover his best form in Turkey, where Trabzonspor hope his experience can boost their domestic and European campaigns.
