A photo showed notorious bandit leader Babaro attending a peace meeting in Katsina State.
Residents linked him to a deadly attack and questioned ongoing talks with armed groups.
A photograph has surfaced of the notorious bandit leader known as Babaro, who has long been linked to violent attacks in Katsina State. Babaro, said to be active around Kankara and Malumfashi, was reportedly present on Sunday at a peace dialogue convened in Faskari Local Government Area.

Security sources and local residents allege that Babaro led the assault on worshippers at Mantau town in Malumfashi Local Government Area, which left 32 people dead and many others injured. The image of his appearance at the meeting has generated outrage among community members still mourning the victims.
Authorities have yet to confirm whether Babaro will face arrest or prosecution, but his attendance at the dialogue has raised questions about the effectiveness of ongoing efforts to negotiate with armed groups in the region.
