Family of Interior Designer Accuses Singer Rema of Ordering Interior Designer’s Arrest
The family of designer Amaka Obasi accused singer Rema of orchestrating her arrest over payment.
They allege she was detained after requesting funds for a house renovation project.
The family of an interior designer identified as Amaka Obasi has raised alarm online, alleging that Nigerian singer Rema ordered her arrest over a business dispute.

According to Derrick, a relative who spoke on social media, Amaka was allegedly contracted to renovate Rema’s new house but was detained after requesting her payment. Derrick claimed that she had already spent two days in detention and might be held for longer.
He wrote that Amaka was reportedly invited for a meeting with lawyers to resolve the issue, but upon arrival, she was allegedly arrested by police officers linked to Rema and taken to the State CID Alagbon. Derrick further alleged that threats were made to parade her as a criminal unless certain social media posts about the incident were taken down.
At the time of writing, full details of the contract and what led to the arrest remain unclear, but the situation has drawn public attention as the family continues to seek her release.
