Firefighters Battle Massive Blaze at Emab Plaza on Lagos Island

On Tuesday night, firefighters worked tirelessly to put out a fierce blaze that swept through Emab Plaza, a four-storey building situated behind Mandilas on Lagos Island.

The fire, which reportedly started around 9 p.m. on the building’s fourth floor, quickly spread to nearby apartments, prompting an urgent response from emergency teams.
According to officials, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service immediately deployed crews from its Ebute Elefun and Oniru stations to tackle the inferno.
By 10 p.m., Deputy Controller-General Olajide Ogabi stated that emergency operations were still underway.
He explained that the service had reacted promptly to the incident at the multi-storey complex on Taiwo Street, Lagos Island, and that firefighters were “making every effort to bring the flames under control and ensure the safety of all occupants.”
