Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly killed a local vigilante and s3xually as@ulted two girls during a late-night attack on Kpaduma 3, a community near Asokoro Extension in Abuja.
The incident occurred on Monday night, September 15, 2025, when the assailants stormed the area, targeting several homes and exchanging gunfire with community security volunteers.
Residents described the attack, which lasted several hours, as one of the most harrowing experiences in recent times. They said gunshots rang out continuously and even a grenade-like explosion was heard by passersby.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke to Nigerian Tribune, the attackers were believed to have come from a nearby village called Kobi. Several people were also reported injured.
A resident disclosed that a vigilante known as “Bako” was fatally shot during the onslaught, while two girls were s3xu@lly as@ulted.
Another community member said that residents had previously urged the landlord of a targeted house to upgrade security measures but their requests were ignored.
Police operatives eventually arrived at the scene, and calm was restored following their deployment.
