APGA Spokesman Dismisses Alleged Apology by Uche Ekwunife to Anambra First Lady

APGA dismisses a viral statement claiming Senator Uche Ekwunife apologized to Anambra First Lady Nonye Soludo.

Party spokesperson Mazi Ejimofor Opara insists any credible apology must come directly from the lawmaker.

Mazi Ejimofor Opara, National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has rejected as false a widely circulated statement claiming Senator Uche Ekwunife apologized to Anambra First Lady, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, over controversial paternity allegations.

Ekwunife, who is running as deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Anambra election, had accused Soludo’s wife of infidelity and questioned the paternity of her children. Mrs. Soludo subsequently demanded a retraction and public apology.

An online post later appeared, purportedly showing an apology from Ekwunife, but Soludo’s camp dismissed it. In a statement issued on Wednesday, September 17, and signed by Anambra State Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the alleged apology was described as fabricated and not from the lawmaker herself.

Opara alleged the publication was produced by persons claiming to be part of Ekwunife’s campaign organisation, naming Tony Ezike as one of those responsible for circulating the material. He urged the public to disregard the statement and called on Senator Ekwunife to issue a direct, personally signed apology to Mrs. Soludo instead of relying on surrogates or unofficial releases.

The APGA spokesperson emphasized that any credible apology must come directly from the lawmaker, especially given the sensitivity of the allegations and the impact on public discourse ahead of the November 8, 2025, governorship election.
