In a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, police confirmed that the object in question was a stun gun, not a firearm as widely speculated online.

According to the statement, Pastor Adefarasin voluntarily presented himself for questioning and cooperated fully with investigators.

After thorough interrogation and review, authorities concluded there were “no sufficient grounds to proceed with the matter,” confirming that no criminal offence had been committed.

The Lagos Police reiterated their commitment to transparency, rule of law, and public safety, stressing that their handling of the case was consistent with due process.

The clarification effectively ends weeks of public speculation and scrutiny surrounding the viral video, restoring calm over the incident.
