Police Arrest Three Suspected Car Thieves in Jigawa
Jigawa police arrest three suspected car thieves after a lone accident exposes their stolen vehicle.
One suspect allegedly impersonated a soldier as operatives recovered the car, fake ID, and ATM cards.
The Jigawa State Police Command says it has apprehended three suspected car thieves in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area following a lone accident involving a stolen vehicle.

Police spokesperson SP Shiisu Lawan Adam said in a statement on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, that the suspects identified as Kabiru Musa, Umar Ali and Sabiu Bashir were caught after they fled the accident scene but were quickly intercepted by operatives.
According to Adam, one of the suspects, Kabiru Musa, falsely claimed to be a Lance Corporal attached to the 102 Guard Brigade in Abuja, but investigations later showed he was an impersonator. Items recovered from the trio included a stolen blue Golf saloon car with registration number MGA 108 JG, a fake ID card, seven ATM cards, and two driver’s licenses.
The police explained that the car had been reported stolen by its owner, Hussaini Manager, on September 7 at Agura Motor Park, Kafin Hausa. Further inquiries by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Dutse confirmed Kabiru Musa’s military claim was fraudulent and linked him to other suspected crimes.
The three suspects, all from Kano State, have been charged to court. Commissioner of Police Dahiru Muhammad praised the professionalism of the Kafin Hausa Division operatives and restated the command’s resolve to rid the state of criminals. He also urged residents to continue sharing timely information to help the police prevent and detect crime.
