Charly Boy recounts Peter Obi’s surprise visit with a “Ghana Must Go” full of local fruits and snacks.

Veteran entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has revealed that Labour Party’s former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, recently paid him a surprise visit with a “Ghana Must Go” bag.

In a post shared on his X handle, Charly Boy narrated the moment Obi walked into his home: “as I come downstairs to meet him, na so I see one big Ghana Must Go by the entrance of my sitting room. I look at the bag, I just dey wonder, Wetin fit dey inside this bag?”
He said they sat together for almost two hours talking about “Nigeria, about politics, about family” before Obi told him, “See small thing I bring for you.” According to Charly Boy, when Obi left, he decided to peep inside the bag and was shocked to see what it contained: “Inside the bag was 3 bottles of roasted ground nuts. Many alligator pepper, kolanuts, pawpaw, oranges, agara, mangos, bananas etc etc. wey Obi pack by himself.”
Charly Boy said he fell to the floor laughing and later called Obi to thank him. He added that Obi told him, “Senior I no fit give you money, but I fit give you this one, na my hand pick.”
Charly Boy has long been a staunch supporter of Peter Obi and the Obidient movement, vigorously campaigning for him during the 2023 presidential election. His playful story about Obi’s gift further highlights the warm relationship between the two public figures.
