Abia Police Arrest Man for Fatally Stabbing Brother Over Dispute

The Abia State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man, Nwogu Nnamdi, for allegedly stabbing his brother to death during a dispute in Aba.

Commissioner of Police Danladi Isa disclosed the arrest during a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Umuahia on Friday, September 19, 2025. He explained that on July 29, 2025, at about 7:30 p.m., police received a report from Uratta Divisional Headquarters alleging that Nnamdi, of Nwagbara Street, Umuikpo, Aba, had stabbed his brother, John Nwachukwu, in the stomach following an argument.
The victim was rushed to the Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH), Aba, where he was pronounced dead. Police confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident and that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has commenced a detailed investigation into the case.
