The United States Government has pledged to continue supporting Nigerian students, innovators, and change-makers who aspire to pursue higher education in America.

Speaking at the 2025 EducationUSA Nigeria Fair in Abuja on Monday, the U.S. Embassy’s Public Diplomacy Officer, Brian Neubert, said the U.S. remains committed to fostering opportunities for Nigerian youth through education and innovation.
“The United States is proud to partner with Nigeria in empowering students, who are the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers,” Neubert said.
The fair, themed “Empowering Futures, Discover American Excellence in Education and Innovation”, is part of an annual global series designed to connect students, parents, and counsellors with U.S. higher education institutions.
This year’s edition featured 28 American colleges and universities, providing participants with direct access to information on admission requirements, programmes, financial aid, and scholarships.
Neubert explained that EducationUSA Nigeria offers free counselling to guide students through the application process. He also urged prospective applicants to “responsibly maintain” their student visa status, comply with U.S. regulations, and maximize their academic and cultural experience.
He reminded students that they would be joining a long tradition of Nigerians who have excelled in U.S. institutions and returned home to make significant contributions to their communities and the world.
