Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage has addressed long-standing rumors surrounding her l3aked s3x t@pe, firmly denying claims that she released it herself to gain sympathy or stay relevant.
Speaking during a candid interview with American radio station Hot 97, the singer recalled the intense criticism and public backlash she endured after the tape surfaced online in 2021. She explained that the video went viral after she refused to give in to a blackmailer’s demands.
“I was bashed for my s3x video. A lot of people thought I was just trying to get sympathy. Even people with platforms were horrible and blamed me,” she said. “I don’t know how they couldn’t see me as the victim. They said I did it to be relevant.”
Tiwa Savage added that if she had intentionally leaked the video, it would have been professionally staged. “I would have used better lighting, lingerie, and my facial expressions would have been on point,” she remarked, underscoring how absurd the accusations were.
