Peter Obi Denounces Fake Photos Linking Him to Trump and MC Oluomo
Peter Obi dismissed viral photos claiming meetings with Donald Trump and MC Oluomo as fake.
He urged Nigerians to verify information, warning fabricated content harms political discourse and public trust.
Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has rejected viral images circulating online that suggest he recently met with former U.S. President Donald Trump and Lagos transport union leader, MC Oluomo.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Obi condemned the photos as digitally altered and the accompanying stories as false, describing them as deliberate attempts to mislead the public. He clarified that he had not held any meetings with either Trump or MC Oluomo.
Obi warned that the spread of fabricated content poses a serious threat to Nigeria’s political discourse, saying such tactics are designed to distract citizens from key national challenges. He urged Nigerians and the international community to cross-check information before sharing and to resist the growing culture of misinformation.
He explained that if such meetings had taken place, he would have disclosed them personally on his official social media pages. According to Obi, his political career has never been about chasing attention or publicity stunts.
Reaffirming his commitment to transparency and responsible leadership, Obi emphasized that his focus remains on tackling Nigeria’s pressing issues, including insecurity, education, healthcare, rule of law, and poverty reduction.
