Edo Govt Secures $250m Investment Deal With Euro-Africa CCI

Edo State has secured a $250 million five-year investment deal with EuroAfrica CCI.

The partnership targets agriculture, mining, renewable energy, and skills training to create jobs and drive development.

The Edo State Government has signed a $250 million, five-year investment agreement with the European African Chamber of Commerce and Industries (EuroAfrica CCI) to boost strategic sectors in the state.

The deal was finalized during the 2025 Edo State Global Investment Summit in Glasgow, Scotland, and announced in a statement by Governor Monday Okpebholo’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, on Thursday.

Based on the agreement, EuroAfrica CCI, an international coalition comprising 98 countries across Europe and Africa, will direct investments into agriculture and agro-processing, mining and solid minerals, technical education and skills training, renewable energy, and green infrastructure.

Governor Okpebholo assured that his administration would provide an enabling business environment through streamlined registration processes, transparent land administration, and relevant tax incentives.

He emphasised that transparency, accountability, and strong institutional support would ensure the investments translate into jobs, opportunities, and sustainable development for Edo people.

EuroAfrica CCI’s Director-General, Amb. Dr. Kingsley Obasohan pledged to align the partnership with Nigeria’s local content policies, ensuring that projects empower Edo citizens by building capacity, creating employment opportunities, and expanding industrial value chains.

The agreement, which will run for an initial five years, also includes joint review mechanisms to monitor progress and ensure accountability.

“This partnership reaffirms Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to positioning Edo as a premier investment destination in Nigeria, with inclusive growth and human capital development at the core of governance,” the statement read.
