Residents of God’s Own Estate on Lokogoma Road in Abuja were thrown into disarray on Wednesday as court officials, hired enforcers, and more than 300 police officers moved in to demolish buildings and evict occupants, including an orphanage.

The operation, which started in the early hours, involved armed security personnel and hired hands reportedly breaking into homes, removing gates, and throwing out residents’ belongings. Some affected occupants alleged that valuables such as cash and electronics went missing during the exercise.
Several residents who spoke to journalists said they were stunned by the development, claiming they had no knowledge of any ongoing court case or judgment against the estate. They appealed to the FCT Minister, the Inspector-General of Police, and other relevant authorities to step in, stressing that proper legal procedures should be followed and the rights of legitimate occupants protected.
