The National Universities Commission has announced multiple job openings at its Abuja headquarters across various cadres.
Interested applicants are to apply online for free within six weeks of the advertisement.
The National Universities Commission (NUC), Nigeria’s apex regulatory body for university education, has announced multiple job vacancies across officer, confidential secretary, and clerical/auxiliary staff cadres at its Abuja headquarters.
In a public notice, the Commission directed all interested applicants to apply through its Careers Portal at careers.nuc.edu.ng or nuc.edu.ng, stressing that the application process is free of charge.
“Applications are to be submitted not later than six (6) weeks from the date of this advertisement. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next phase of the recruitment exercise,” the notice stated.
Officer cadre vacancies
- Senior Officer (CONTISS 9): Requires a Ph.D. in disciplines relevant to NUC’s mandate, or a Master’s degree plus at least six years’ post-qualification experience. Additional professional qualifications are an advantage.
- Trainee/Officer I (CONTISS 8): Requires a Master’s degree or a first degree plus three years of relevant experience.
- Trainee Officer II (CONTISS 7): Requires a first degree in disciplines related to NUC’s mandate. Additional professional qualifications are an advantage.
- Confidential Secretary I (CONTISS 7): Requires a Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies plus at least three years of relevant experience.
Openings include:
- Assistant Cameraman (CONTISS 5): ND in Cinematography or Mass Communication.
- Data Processing Assistant (CONTISS 5): ND in relevant fields.
- Artisan/Craftsman (CONTISS 4/3): ‘O’ Level plus Class I/II/III Trade Test Certificate in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or air-conditioning mechanics.
- Lift Operator (CONTISS 4/3): First School Leaving Certificate, with technical training preferred.
- Motor Driver/Mechanic (CONTISS 4/3): ‘O’ Level, Class I/II/III Trade Test Certificate in Motor Mechanics, plus a valid Class ‘E’ driving license.
