In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 23, the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said the report was completely unfounded and urged the public to ignore it.

According to Adeh, there has been no order from the Inspector General of Police regarding any changes to officers’ uniforms. She stressed that the command remains committed to its primary duty of protecting lives and property and encouraged citizens to verify news from reliable sources before sharing it.

Adeh also appealed to residents to depend on official channels for accurate information. She warned social media users to desist from spreading false claims that could mislead the public or distract security agencies from carrying out their essential responsibilities.
