Manchester United scouts are in Chile to monitor Nigeria’s teenage goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The 19-year-old rising star could secure a major European move.

Manchester United have dispatched senior scouts to Chile to watch Flying Eagles goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt in action at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, according to United In Focus.

Harcourt, who emerged as Nigeria’s youngest senior national team player earlier this year, played a pivotal role in the Flying Eagles’ bronze medal finish at the CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The Sporting Lagos academy product impressed with two penalty saves and three clean sheets during the tournament.

He also featured in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Congo at the African Nations Championship (CHAN), further cementing his reputation as one of the brightest young prospects in African football.

The 19-year-old’s rapid rise has caught the attention of Europe’s elite. Manchester United scouts are closely monitoring his performances in Chile, as the Premier League giants look to bolster their long-term goalkeeping options.

Harcourt is not the only player under scrutiny; Mexican midfielder Gilberto Mora has also been listed as a key scouting target at the tournament.

Nigeria’s U-20 team, drawn in Group F alongside Colombia, Norway, and Saudi Arabia, will open their campaign against Norway on Monday, September 29, at Estadio Fiscal in Talca.

With Harcourt expected to play a central role, strong performances could further boost his chances of securing a move to Europe.
