President Bola Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Friday for a working visit after attending the coronation of Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland in Oyo State.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the presidency said the visit comes ahead of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary. While in Lagos, Tinubu is expected to meet major private sector leaders and senior government officials.
According to the statement, the President will travel to Imo State on Tuesday, September 30, to commission projects completed by Governor Hope Uzodimma. He will also inaugurate the remodeled National Theatre in Lagos, renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, as part of the anniversary events.
Speaking earlier at the coronation of the Olubadan in Ibadan, Tinubu assured Nigerians that the economic measures taken over the past two years would begin to pay off. “Today, I am honored to bring the cheering news that our economy has turned around and there is now light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.
He added that the progress achieved so far was possible because of the support and patience of citizens, stressing that the sacrifices made over the past 28 months were not in vain.
