Jerry Gana Says Jonathan Will Run for President in 2027 Under PDP
Former Minister Jerry Gana has declared ex-President Goodluck Jonathan will contest Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.
He said the PDP is united and ready to reclaim power with Jonathan as candidate.
Jerry Gana, a former Information Minister and senior member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has announced that ex-President Goodluck Jonathan will seek the presidency in 2027 on the PDP ticket.

Gana made the declaration in Minna, Niger State, following the PDP’s state congress on September 28. He stated that the party is prepared to restore Jonathan to power.
According to him, Nigerians have already experienced two administrations since Jonathan left office, and now yearn for his return. He recalled that Jonathan once said his ambition was not worth spilling Nigerians’ blood. Gana affirmed, “I can confirm that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will contest the presidential election in 2027 as PDP candidate, and you will vote for him to return as President again.”
He added that the PDP remains a democratic and grassroots party, where internal disputes have been addressed through consultative mechanisms, and that the party is focused on reclaiming power in 2027.
