Barcelona Outlines Details of Rashford Loan from Manchester United
Barcelona Sporting Director Deco says Marcus Rashford’s loan from Manchester United is risk-free for the club.
He explained the deal includes an option to buy without penalties if not made permanent.
Barcelona Sporting Director, Deco, has explained the club’s decision to bring in Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

Deco confirmed that the deal is a straightforward loan agreement that runs until June 2026, with an option to buy. He stressed that there are no financial penalties if Barcelona decide not to make the transfer permanent.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also shared details of the arrangement on X, quoting Deco as saying: “We signed Marcus on a simple loan with an option to buy. It’s not a high fee. There are no penalties if we do not sign him permanently. He’s doing great, we are very happy… the final decisions come later.”
The move reflects Barcelona’s wider transfer approach, which focuses on low-cost deals with the potential for high reward, as the club continues to manage strict financial limits.
Rashford, presented at Camp Nou in July, has already spoken warmly about the switch, describing Barcelona as a place that “feels like home.”
