PSC Launches Whistle-Blowing Policy to Ensure Transparency in Police Recruitment

The Police Service Commission has introduced a whistle-blowing system to curb corruption in police recruitment.

Citizens can now report bribery, fraud, and undue influence confidentially through hotlines, email, or online.

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has rolled out a whistle-blowing framework aimed at stamping out irregularities in police recruitment and promoting transparency, merit, and fairness.

The Commission said the initiative is part of efforts to align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly on national security and the fight against corruption.

Under the new policy, citizens can confidentially report cases of bribery, falsified documents, impersonation, ghost candidates, exam result manipulation, sexual harassment, or any undue influence in the recruitment process. Reports may be lodged anonymously through dedicated hotlines (08065265651, 08059544355, 09159329404, 08035866677), email ([email protected]), the PSC website (www.psc.gov.ng), or the Commission’s official social media platforms (@PSCNigeria).

The PSC assured that whistle-blowers will be protected under Nigerian law. It also promised swift and independent investigations, with offenders facing strict disciplinary measures and prosecution where necessary.

The Commission called on Nigerians to actively support the reform drive, stressing that a credible recruitment system is essential to building a professional and trusted police force.
