Tinubu Mourns Victims of Kogi Boat Mishap, Calls for Safer Water Transport
President Bola Tinubu has mourned victims of the Kogi boat accident that killed several traders.
He urged transport operators to prioritize safety and prayed for comfort for grieving families.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commiserated with the people and government of Kogi State over the tragic boat accident that claimed several lives in Ibaji Local Government Area on Tuesday.

Reports indicated that the victims were traders traveling from Ibaji in Kogi to Ilushi market in neighboring Edo State when the accident occurred.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said he received the news of the incident with deep sadness. He described the tragedy as particularly painful because the victims were simply trying to earn an honest living.
The President praised the swift efforts of those who first responded at the scene and urged emergency agencies at all levels to intensify support for both survivors and affected families.
He also appealed to operators of water transport to prioritize the safety of passengers above profit, stressing that the lives of Nigerians must never be put at risk for financial gain.
President Tinubu prayed for the repose of the souls of those who died and wished the injured victims a speedy recovery.
