Nigerian Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold has been honored with a street named after him in the city where he grew up.
The singer, fondly called AG Baby, shared the emotional moment in a video posted on his Instagram page. In the clip, Adekunle was joined by his wife, fellow musician Simi, and their daughter Deja, who helped unveil the new street sign, Adekunle Kosoko Street.
“The city that raised me now carries my name. Thank you, Lord, for my many blessings,” he wrote, expressing gratitude for the recognition.
The heartwarming video showed the family celebrating the honor together, with Adekunle carrying his daughter and smiling proudly as she pulled off the cover to reveal the sign.
The gesture comes shortly after Adekunle Gold performed at the Big Brother Naija Season 10 grand finale, held on Sunday, October 5, where he thrilled fans with a live performance of songs from his latest project, Fuji.
Earlier, the award-winning musician also headlined the Fuji Street Carnival on Lagos Island, further cementing his connection to his roots and community.
