Group Predicts Tinubu’s Defeat in 2027, Says Nigerians Tired of APC’s Failures
The Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement says President Tinubu will face massive rejection in 2027 as northern support wanes.
It blamed his government for worsening insecurity, poverty, and economic decline nationwide.
The Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement (GHSM) has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will face a sweeping rejection from Nigerians across all regions in the 2027 general election, arguing that the support he enjoyed from the North in 2023 has completely eroded.
The South-West Coordinator of the movement, Alhaji Abass Olaniyi, made the claim while responding to a statement issued by the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He accused the ruling party of arrogance and political complacency, saying such attitudes would again lead to its downfall at the polls.
“In 2023, the Lagos APC mocked opposition figures as mere online politicians. That same arrogance cost them victory in their own stronghold,” Olaniyi said. “Tinubu didn’t just lose in Lagos; he was rejected across the South. His win came mainly from the North a region that no longer stands behind him.”
According to the GHSM, the northern alliance that once backed the President has disintegrated due to what it described as worsening economic conditions and insecurity under the current administration.
Olaniyi accused the APC government of presiding over “a decade-long economic decline that has no logical explanation.” He said, “In the past ten years of APC rule, Nigeria’s economy has shrunk drastically almost by half. Not even during the military era or the civil war did the country experience such a deep economic collapse.”
The group also condemned the government’s handling of insecurity, alleging that it had spread violence beyond the North East to nearly every region of the country. “Rather than ending insurgency, the government’s incompetence has allowed banditry and unrest to reach the North West, North Central, South East, and even parts of the South West,” Olaniyi said. “This is one of the most alarming governance failures in modern African history.”
He described the Tinubu-led government as a symbol of “hunger, poverty, and frustration,” insisting that Nigerians are no longer swayed by propaganda or empty promises.
Olaniyi stressed that the 2027 polls would be determined by people’s experiences, not regional loyalties. “With the APC’s collapse in the North and its poor record in office, forcing governors or party members in the South to rally around it won’t prevent an overwhelming defeat,” he said. “The South-West electorate is politically aware and will not reward failure simply because the President is from their region.”
Responding to the APC’s criticism of Dr. Gbenga Hashim, Olaniyi compared his political journey to that of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who won after several attempts. “President Buhari contested four times before winning. We believe that 2027 is Dr. Gbenga Hashim’s appointed time, by the grace of God,” he stated.
The GHSM emphasized that Hashim’s message of transparency, justice, and people-centered governance has gained ground among Nigerians weary of political deception. “While the APC relies on media appearances to create a false image of progress, citizens are struggling with hunger, joblessness, and despair,” Olaniyi said. “Nigerians deserve results, not rhetoric.”
Concluding, the group said the next election would serve as a verdict on leadership credibility rather than campaign propaganda. “No amount of political marketing can disguise hardship as success. The 2027 race will be a referendum on truth, performance, and national renewal and Dr. Gbenga Hashim will emerge victorious to rebuild Nigeria,” the group declared.
