Afrobeats star Mr Eazi has declared his intention to run for the Nigerian presidency.
He said his decision is driven by a passion for progress, not money or political power.
Nigerian Afrobeats singer and businessman, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has announced his intention to contest for the Nigerian presidency.
The artist, who recently got married, made the disclosure in a video message, stating that he has been considering the decision for some time.
Mr Eazi explained that his interest in politics is driven by a desire to promote development rather than pursue money or power.
In his words, “I have been thinking about it. I think it’s time to share it with you guys. Some of you might be from some country, specifically in Africa, and you are looking for a president; a president who is not looking for money and power but forward-thinking, young, active and can move your country better.
“So, I’m officially putting myself forward for the presidency.”
He did not reveal when he intends to begin his political campaign or under which platform he plans to run.
