According to the National Commander of the Association, Usman Taju, the joint operation took place around 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in Yakawada Ward, near Unguwar Gaga, Giwa LGA. Three suspected bandits, including a notorious leader, were neutralized during the exchange of fire.
“We eliminated three of the criminals, among them Dogo Aminu, the bandits’ leader from the Galadimawa and Dabar Garke axis of Giwa Local Government,” Taju said.
He explained that the operation began after intelligence reports indicated that armed men had abducted several residents of Danja Local Government in Katsina and were transporting them through Giwa. “When we received the report early that morning, we mobilized our men to intercept the bandits and rescue the hostages,” he added.
