Air Peace Warns Public Against Fake 30% Flight Discount Promo
Air Peace has denied running a 30 per cent discount promotion on Africa flights, warning the public against a fake online advert.
The airline said the scam aims to defraud unsuspecting travelers.
Air Peace Limited has dismissed reports of a social media promotion claiming the airline is offering a 30 per cent discount on Africa flights, describing the information as false and fraudulent.
In a statement released by the airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, Air Peace said it is not running any such promotion and warned the public to ignore the post and avoid engaging with those behind it. The airline noted that the fake offer, which is being circulated on several social media platforms, is an attempt to defraud unsuspecting customers.
“Our attention has been drawn to a sponsored post circulating on social media, advertising a purported ‘30% off Africa flights’ promotion and requesting people to sign up to access this offer. We wish to categorically state that Air Peace Limited is not running any 30 per cent discount promotion,” the statement read.
The airline described the advert as completely unauthorized, stressing that it has no connection with Air Peace. It advised Nigerians and travelers across Africa to rely only on official communication channels to avoid falling victim to scams.
The company also raised concerns about reports that some customers were trying to book tickets through the domain airpeace.com, which it said is not owned or operated by the airline. It clarified that its only official website is www.flyairpeace.com, and that any other site offering discounts or promotional codes is fake.
“For your safety and to avoid being scammed, passengers are advised to use only our official contact channels,” the statement added. The airline listed its verified platforms as:
- Call Centre: +234 201 343 8133
- Email: [email protected]
- Website: www.flyairpeace.com
Air Peace further stated that it will not take responsibility for any losses, payments, or ticket purchases made through unauthorized websites, contact numbers, or social media pages.
The airline urged members of the public to be cautious and to report any suspicious offers or websites to the appropriate authorities.
