Former NFF President Amaju Pinnick has congratulated Ibrahim Gusau, Abdulhakeem Mustapha, and Ayisat Falode on their new FIFA committee appointments.
He described the recognition as a boost for Nigerian football leadership.
Former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President and current Deputy Chair of the FIFA Men’s National Teams Competitions Committee, Amaju Pinnick, has congratulated three Nigerian football figures on their recent appointments to key FIFA committees.

Those appointed include the NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau; legal practitioner, Abdulhakeem Mustapha (SAN); and football administrator, Ayisat Falode. Their inclusion marks another significant milestone for Nigeria in global football leadership, placing the country at the heart of FIFA’s policymaking and oversight activities.
According to the new assignments, Gusau joins the FIFA Men’s Club Competitions Committee, Mustapha has been appointed to the Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Committee, while Falode will serve on the Media and Communications Committee.
In his congratulatory message, Pinnick described their appointments as a recognition of Nigeria’s growing influence in football administration. He praised the trio for their dedication and professionalism, noting that each of them represents a strong example of Nigerian excellence on the international stage.
“To President Gusau, your unifying leadership continues to lift Nigerian football. To Abdulhakeem Mustapha, SAN, your intellect and integrity will strengthen FIFA’s fight against discrimination and promote fairness. And to Aisha Falode, your remarkable journey from journalism to football management continues to inspire women across Africa,” Pinnick said.
He also commended Falode for her achievements in women’s football and sports media, recalling her role as former Chairperson of the Nigeria Women’s Football League and as the first Nigerian woman to serve on the Confederation of African Football’s Media and Communications Committee. Her new FIFA appointment, he said, builds on that legacy.
Pinnick added that he feels honored to keep serving within FIFA alongside the newly appointed members. “Together with Gusau, Mustapha, and Falode, we represent a new era of professionalism, integrity, and innovation for Nigerian football on the global stage,” he said.
