Gunmen have kidnapped Mrs. Ladi Abel, the wife of a Chief Superintendent of Immigration, along the Badagry–Mile 2 Expressway in Lagos State.
According to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the victim, who is 45 years old, was abducted on Monday, October 6, 2025. The spokesperson for the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Seme Command, Isaac Elijah, confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday.
Elijah said Mrs. Abel, the wife of Chief Superintendent of Immigration Abel Mada, had left her home in the Sawmill area of Badagry around 7 a.m. to purchase goods at the Trade Fair Complex in Ojo Local Government Area when she was intercepted by kidnappers.
He explained that the abductors later contacted her husband using her mobile phone, demanding a ransom of N7 million for her release. “One of the kidnappers used the woman’s phone to call her husband, requesting N7 million as ransom to free his wife,” Elijah stated.
He added that on Tuesday morning, around 6 a.m., the kidnappers reached out again, reducing their demand to N3 million and warning that the woman’s life was at risk if the ransom was not paid.
The Immigration spokesperson confirmed that the case has been reported to both the Badagry Police Division and the Area K Command of the Lagos State Police Command, which have since launched investigations into the abduction.
Security agencies have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as efforts continue to secure the safe release of the victim.
