Phyna Breaks Silence After Backlash for Clubbing Weeks After Sister’s Burial
Phyna has defended herself after backlash for partying weeks after her sister’s burial.
She said grief is personal and urged critics to respect how others choose to heal.
Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna has responded to criticism over a viral video of her partying weeks after her sister’s burial.

Phyna, who lost her younger sister Ruth Otabor in an accident involving a Dangote truck in August and laid her to rest in September, recently drew backlash online after she was seen clubbing with Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
Many social media users accused the reality TV star of being insensitive and moving on too quickly from her loss. While Regina Daniels had earlier defended her, urging critics to stop judging others for how they grieve, Phyna herself had remained silent, until now.
Addressing the issue on her X account, Phyna shared an emotional message, stressing that grief is personal and cannot be dictated by others.
She wrote:
“Grief has no manual, no fixed face, and no timetable. The fact that I choose to keep living, smiling, or sharing moments does not erase the pain I carry. Respect the process, even if you do not understand it. If you cannot extend compassion, then at least extend silence.”
