FCT Police Nab Four Suspects for One-Chance Robbery, Attempted Kidnapping
FCT police have arrested four suspected one-chance robbers who allegedly attempted to kidnap two passengers in Abuja.
The suspects were caught after a swift operation that led to the victims’ rescue.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested four men accused of operating a one-chance robbery gang and attempting to kidnap two passengers in Abuja.

A statement issued on Sunday, October 12, 2025, by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the suspects were apprehended following an intelligence-led operation by officers from the Life Camp Police Division.
According to Adeh, officers acted swiftly after receiving a distress call at about 10:09 p.m. on October 8, 2025, from a woman who reported that she had been abducted by armed men demanding a ransom of ₦1 million for her release.
She explained that police operatives traced the suspects using both digital and tactical intelligence. “Our officers immediately mobilized and, by 4:30 a.m. on October 9, they intercepted the suspects at Dape Village after a fierce encounter,” Adeh said, noting that two victims were safely rescued.
One of the victims, who sustained multiple knife wounds during the ordeal, was taken to Gwarinpa General Hospital and is currently receiving treatment.
The four suspects identified as Solomon Tanko, Samuel Audu, Chigozie Joseph, and Emmanuel Chidiebere were arrested with several incriminating items. Adeh disclosed that preliminary investigations linked the men to several one-chance robberies around Bannex and Kado districts, where they allegedly used a tinted vehicle to lure unsuspecting passengers.
“The suspects admitted to robbing at least six passengers before they were apprehended,” she stated.
Recovered items include 15 international passports, four mobile phones, two daggers, two cutlasses, two hammers, three pens, and several blood-stained documents.
Adeh added that the suspects remain in custody and will face prosecution once investigations are completed.
She quoted the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, as commending the quick response of the Life Camp Division. He urged residents to maintain confidence in the police and report incidents promptly to enable rapid intervention.
The public, she noted, can reach the police through the following emergency numbers: 08032003913, 08028940883, and the FCT Police Complaint Response Unit line, 08107314192.
