Adesua Etomi Reveals She Nearly Lost Her Life After Emergency Surgery in the UK
Adesua Etomi-Wellington has revealed she nearly lost her life in June after a sudden medical emergency led to unplanned surgery in the UK.
She said the experience deepened her faith, calling it proof that “God is real.”
Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington has shared how a near-death medical emergency in June almost claimed her life while she was in the United Kingdom with her husband, Banky W, and their two sons.

In a touching post on Instagram, the Sugar Rush star revealed that she unexpectedly underwent surgery following a severe health scare, describing the experience as both terrifying and transformative.
“I could have lost my life in June,” she wrote. “What I went through was horrific and ended with an unplanned surgery and, strangely, the surgery itself was the least dramatic part of it all.”
Adesua explained that the incident occurred during a trip to the UK for two speaking engagements. She credited divine intervention for her survival, saying that every single detail of the day aligned perfectly to save her life.
“If even one single detail had been different, I wouldn’t be here today. When I think about it, I shudder,” she added.
The actress said the experience strengthened her faith and renewed her appreciation for life. “There’s nothing anyone can tell me, God is real,” she declared.
She also encouraged her followers to value every moment and live with compassion, saying, “Let’s choose to be softer, kinder, gentler, forgiving, patient, loving, and peaceful. I’ll never take another day for granted, neither should you.”
