He urged citizens to remain hopeful, assuring that recovery and renewed prosperity are underway.
Vice President Kashim Shettima has expressed confidence that Nigeria’s current economic difficulties will soon give way to renewed prosperity, assuring citizens that the government’s ongoing reforms are beginning to yield positive results.

Speaking at the Nigeria Renewable Energy Innovation Forum (NREIF) held on Tuesday, October 14, in Abuja, Shettima said the administration of President Bola Tinubu is committed to steering the country out of its present challenges and laying a solid foundation for inclusive growth.
He noted that the government is aware of the hardship many Nigerians are facing as a result of recent economic adjustments, including the removal of fuel subsidies and foreign exchange reforms. According to him, the pain being experienced is a temporary phase that will soon lead to economic recovery and long-term benefits for the nation.
The Vice President assured that President Tinubu is deeply concerned about the welfare of citizens and has directed his economic team to intensify efforts toward stabilizing the economy, tackling inflation, and creating new jobs. He explained that several initiatives are already underway to support small businesses, strengthen local industries, and expand access to renewable energy, which he described as a key driver of future growth.
Shettima said the administration’s focus on renewable energy reflects its determination to diversify the economy and reduce dependence on crude oil. He added that Nigeria’s growing interest in clean energy technologies will not only promote sustainable development but also attract foreign investments and foster innovation among local entrepreneurs.
He called on Nigerians to remain patient and hopeful, stressing that the country has “crossed a critical turning point” and is now on a steady path toward economic transformation.
According to him, with continued reforms, renewed private sector confidence, and targeted social interventions, Nigeria will soon witness improvements in production, job creation, and overall living standards.
Shettima urged citizens to support government efforts, expressing optimism that the coming months will mark the beginning of a new phase of prosperity and stability for the nation.
